As we celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the founding of CharityRx, we also want to take a moment to recognize our incredible reps and their families for participating in the 2023 CharityRx Founder’s Day of Service. This year’s theme is “Hopeless to Hopeful,” and it truly embodies the essence of our organization – bringing hope to the hopeless and experiencing the power of giving back.
We are so proud to see how our reps have embraced this theme and spread hope through their service projects. It is heartwarming to know that in just one day, we were able to make a positive impact in our communities and inspire others to do the same.
The phrase “The purpose is the prize” perfectly captures the benefits of serving others. Often, we may feel like our individual actions are insignificant or that we don’t have much to give. But when we come together as a team, our collective efforts can achieve something remarkable. This year’s Founder’s Day of Service exemplifies this idea, and we are grateful to each and every one of our reps for their dedication and hard work.
On September 16, 2023, the CharityRx leadership team traveled to Seattle, Washington, where they volunteered to pack no-cook food bags for people experiencing homelessness and donated over 620 bags of food to the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank. These no-cook bags included items that a person who has no access to a kitchen, utensils, hot water, or a method of cooking food can eat at any time and in any place.
Now, let’s hear from our reps themselves about their experiences on this special day!
“As I was leaving my house to volunteer with the Selma, California, city cleanup, I noticed my elderly neighbor trying to prune his tall Queen palms. This task was too much for him to do alone, so I spent the rest of the day helping him prune his trees. He was so thankful, knowing he could not have done it without me!”
Robert Erion coached a Special Olympics soccer team for the Alameda Special Olympics. “These guys and gals are indeed very special,” he said.
Amanda Levie showed her neighbors love by making cinnamon rolls and delivering them in Beaver, Utah.
Area Leader Tonya Saucer participated in the Leadership Project in Seattle and her daughter, Holin’s, Homeless Care Bags in Century, Florida. Tonya related, “We had the honor of meeting with the rest of the leadership in Seattle for the Pike’s Market Senior Center and Food Bank project, which was amazing to put together 600 bags of food with the team!
“After returning home from the leadership trip, Holin and I put together 60 care bags for people experiencing homelessness. Holin had asked friends and family to send her items for her birthday to be able to put care bags together for her own service project.”
In Liberty, Missouri, Heidi Bales volunteered at her church: “My husband and I volunteered with a group to help replace waterlines at our place of worship. I also made food with others to serve to the rest of the volunteers.”
Jodi Hinds provided a meal for an overwhelmed mom in Richland, Mississippi.
Mary Tockstein donated clothing, shoes, and purses in Canyon Country, California. “My husband and I packed up four huge bags of clothes, shoes, and purses to drop off at the Hope church, and they distribute to shelters.”
Joseph Maxon showed his support for police officers by bringing coffee and donuts to his local police station in Fairport, New York.
“I volunteered for three hours to help on the church food drive in my area in San Antonio, Texas. The local church has a great influence on the area and has several programs to help the needy.”
Steve Lee volunteered to clean up his local dog park in Houston, Texas.
In Satellite Beach, Florida, Lacey Saxon showed neighborly love: “I volunteered to make t-shirts (design with permanent vinyl) for a local non-profit. I also helped a neighbor by washing/drying their laundry, scrubbing their bathroom, and mowing their lawn.”
“I picked pumpkins from a pumpkin patch after the owner had harvested most of the pumpkins for sale, and I could get the ones that ripened late. I delivered the pumpkins to The Bryan Center for Autism in Bryan, Ohio.”

The experience of participating in CharityRx’s Founder’s Day of Service will forever be etched in our memories and hearts. It was a day filled with meaningful service, heartfelt connections, and the fulfillment of our purpose – to bring hope to the hopeless.
As we celebrate the 3rd anniversary of CharityRx‘s founding and reflect on the theme of this year’s Founder’s Day – Hopeless to Hopeful, we are reminded that no matter how difficult or dire a situation may seem, there is always hope. And through our acts of service, we have the power to transform hopeless situations into hopeful ones.
